First Baptist Church
Traditional Policies for Weddings, Parties, Anniversaries
Arrangements for using church facilities for weddings, showers, anniversaries should be made through the church business administrator. No Sunday or Wednesday weddings should be scheduled unless absolutely necessary and approved by the pastor. Saturday evening weddings will be held no later than 6:00 PM to give time for cleanup for Sunday.
Auditorium weddings require a member of the sound committee in the booth. The church business administrator or Minister of Music will contact a member of the committee to be present during both the rehearsal and wedding.
No smoking and intoxicants are permitted in the church buildings.
All buildings must be vacated by 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, 11:00 p.m. other nights.
The church will not be responsible for articles lost or left behind following weddings and parties.
Members scheduling over three months in advance have first choice of dates over non-members. If the scheduling is less than 3 months prior to the wedding, the choice of dates will be to whomever contacts the church office first.
Round tables should stay in Fellowship Hall.
We encourage people to leave chairs of the Adult Annex in that building and Fellowship Hall chairs to stay in that area.
Use of flowers, trees, etc. from the Decorations closet should be discussed with appropriate Staff member (Minister of Music) or chairman of that committee.
Wedding/banquet items should be checked out through church business administrator
Members that have reserved tablecloths from the wedding/banquet room are responsible to launder and press them before returning to the church.
Wedding events should all be in
the same building whenever possible.
Candles in the auditorium should be placed away from the overhead
microphones. Carpet under the candles should be covered with clear plastic
to keep wax from dripping
$25 deposit is required to place wedding date on the church calendar.
Kitchen tools, ice chests, coolers, pitchers, older tables, folding chairs etc. should be checked out through the person in charge of building and grounds.
Wedding and baby showers for members are considered a ministry of the church. The church members giving the party are responsible for cleaning and setting the room back up for Sunday School.
Anniversaries and non-churchmember parties will require a custodian with a $25 charge.
Those using wedding/banquet dishes are responsible for their cleanup, wrapping and return to storage.
No profit making enterprises shall use church facilities.
